Forensic relevance
Text output of Android's logcat: one line per log message with date and time (device local time, no year in the default format; other output formats add the year or use UTC or epoch time), PID, TID, priority, tag and message. Found in bug reports, ADB extractions and app support exports. The binary log buffers on the device (main, system, crash, radio, events) are ring buffers, so a capture only reaches back as far as the buffer did.
